Job Description

Under the direction of the Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management, the Director of Admissions is responsible for all undergraduate recruitment and admissions for segments including: first-year students, transfer students, first-year transfer students, transient students and more. The Director of Admissions also works closely with other University offices to ensure a smooth admissions process for special segments including: international students, graduate students, foster care, DREAMers,
military-affiliated students and others.

Responsibilities:

  • Directs a comprehensive, integrated, and data-driven recruitment, admissions, and enrollment plan to recruit undergraduate students.

  • Develops a comprehensive and strategic recruitment plan to ensure enrollment goals are met and/or exceeded.

  • Advises on annual enrollment targets, new recruitment markets, and overall recruitment strategies.

  • Supervises and manages a team of recruiters.

  • Develops and provides ongoing training and professional development opportunities for the admissions team.

  • Determines in-state or out-of state residence for tuition purposes and participates in the awarding of freshmen and transfer student scholarships.

  • Supervises the evaluation of academic transcripts from high schools, Community Colleges, and Universities.

  • Oversees transfer course designation for the Texas Common Core Curriculum and management of the course database equivalency tables.

  • Coordinates with offices within the Enrollment Management division to ensure effective recruitment events and campus tours, targeted prospective student enrollment communications, and seamless admissions processes.

  • Serves as the liaison for the University as it relates to all admissions-related decisions, outreach efforts, funnel reporting, etc.

  • Develops plans that enhance student diversity on the University campus.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field

  • Ten (10) years of related experience in admissions and/or recruitment

Preferred Education & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in applicable field

  • Six (6) years of related experience in admissions and/or recruitment

  • Experience in higher education (specifically within an enrollment management, admissions, recruitment, financial aid atmosphere)

  • Strong oral and written communications; must be a strong presenter

  • Knowledge and familiarity of CRM and Ellucian/Banner.

  • Strong data background in reporting.

  • Spanish-language proficiency is a plus.

  • At least 3 years of experience managing a team
