College of Law

The University of Tennessee College of Law invites applications for the position of Admissions Data Coordinator. The Admissions Data Coordinator (ADC) oversees the logistical arrangements for recruiting prospective students to the College of Law and is the first point of contact in the office. The ADC also assists in planning events with the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid (DAFA) held at the Law School, or outside venues. The ADC is also in charge of accessing applications using Law Schools database, UNITE, and oversees all aspects of the application process until review, which also includes using the database to pull reports for use in strategic planning. The ADC is the first point of contact for prospective students who want to schedule a visit to the Law School or speak to a counselor with regard to applying. The ADC will also assist the Records & Student Affairs Office with travel arrangements, preparation and administration of exams, assist with set up for student organization programming, as well as other administrative tasks

The Admissions Data Coordinator responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for all admission application processing and accessing of reports, including but not limited to pulling applications into UNITE (admission database), checking for materials that are required for application completion, scheduling interviews as necessary, and assigning completed files to the appropriate staff member for review.
  • Responsible for notifying applicants via email that they have been placed on the waitlist or have been denied admission to UT.
  • Responsible for compiling all admission files for submission to records office at time of matriculation.
  • Acts as liaison between the Admissions Office and LSAC/UNITE.
  • Responsible for coordinating prospective student visits.
  • Act as the first-point of contact for prospective students via email, phone calls, and walk-ins regarding application process, scheduling appointments with financial aid and admissions staff, and answering basic financial aid questions.
  • Coordinates arrangements for recruitment travel throughout the United States.
  • Registering for recruiting events, arranging travel as necessary, and working in conjunction with the college Business Office to process recruitment and conference travel reimbursements.
  • Support the Records & Student Affairs Office by answering phone calls; assisting with travel requests and reimbursement for the Records & Student Affairs Office; assisting with exams; data collection by reviewing publicly available websites/information; preparing meeting agendas, notes, and set up; assist with preparation of correspondence; and record/file management.
  • Responsible for ordering and maintaining supply of promotional items and office supplies, and handling Admissions Office maintenance requests.

Qualifications

 

Required Experience and Abilities

Must have an Associate's degree and 1-2 years of customer service experience.

Bachelor's degree and student services experience in higher education is preferred.

The candidate must have:

  • Knowledge of computing systems and technology, and the ability to master those that the College of Law accesses on a daily basis.
  • The ability to speak at ease with different constituents, which includes prospective applicants, current students, faculty, staff, and alumni of the college.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Attention to every detail in every task is required.
