Job Summary
 

An admissions counselor implements a comprehensive recruitment plan designed to enrich the campus community by attracting and enrolling a diverse student body by doing the following:

·     Recruit students and provide support for prospects as they progress through the admissions process.

·     Advise on academic planning, programs, requirements, and campus resources.

·     Coordinate and attend numerous recruitment events to increase brand awareness and to build a recruitment pipeline.

·     Assist in identifying, communicating, and implementing vital recruitment strategies targeting all populations to enhance and grow the University¿s student body.

This is an entry-level position in professional admissions and recruitment work. Extensive overnight travel is required (~80 nights per year). A successful candidate for this position must be prepared to travel in and around the Metro-Atlanta and North Georgia areas. Some occasional out-of-state travel may be required.


Responsibilities
 

 

  • Plan and coordinate visits and special programs for students at targeted high schools.
  • Process student applications and make admission decisions.
  • Maintain extensive communication with prospective students through text, email, phone, video messages, and in-person contact.
  • Assist with on-campus recruitment programs, tours, related activities, and Preview Days.
  • Utilize office technological resources including TargetX, the CRM for the university, to effectively recruit students to GSW Perform related work as required.

All other duties as assigned


Required Qualifications
 

Educational Requirements
Bachelor¿s degree from an accredited university is required. Candidates completing their bachelor's degree in Summer 2024 will also be considered.
Required Experience
More than one year of related experience required.

Additional Requirements

  • Extensive travel is involved; therefore, employee must have reliable means of transportation that may be used for recruitment travel (mileage reimbursement given).
  • Must be able to lift 30 pounds to deliver materials for recruitment to various sites.
  • Must be outgoing, energetic, and enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to young people.
  • Must be able to strategically plan and organize a recruitment travel schedule to maximize the number of visits and efficiently use the travel budget.
  • Knowledge of marketing and public relations and computer skills helpful.
  • Knowledge of and ability to explain academic, social, and service programs of the University.
  • Knowledge of Banner computer software helpful. Previous college admissions experience desirable.

Proposed Salary
 

$39,363.76 per year
