Job Summary: The Admissions Associate I provides clerical and administrative support for the admissions and scholarship processes under close supervision. Processes and reviews applications, transcripts, and test scores. Prepares admissions reports. Communicates with prospective students and guardians.


Additional Department Summary: The Admissions Associate works in tandem with the Director of Recruitment to further the Honors College’s efforts to strategically identify, recruit, evaluate, and enroll qualified students. Serves as a resource for applicants and will be the primary point of contact for prospective students planning visits to campus. Collaborates with prospective students and families, while liaising with campus partners to plan students’ visits. Coordinates logistics for a myriad of campus recruitment events such as Honors Capstone Scholars Days is a necessity. Keeps accurate records of attendance at information sessions and campus visits to support the College’s assessment needs. Makes presentations on behalf of the college and will also be responsible for monitoring and processing traditional and/or alternate entrance processes of Honors College applications. Serves as an on-campus and outside field representative of both the University of Alabama and the Honors College. Provides additional support for college fairs and recruiting events, increasing travel demands. Supervises and supports student interns and Honors College Ambassadors while the Director is away from office.


Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED.


Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work with diverse populations, including prospective college students and their families. Excellent written and oral communication. Detail oriented. Ability to effectively use standard business application software (Microsoft Word and Excel, etc.).


Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, counseling, or related field.
