The Admissions Assistant, under general supervision, is responsible for performing professional administrative support work for the School of Law Admissions Department. Serving as the Office Manager, you will develop, evaluate, and ensure adherence to office procedures. You will also coordinate meetings, seminars, and other special events, and provide on-site support for the School of Law Admissions events and activities. You will serve as a resource, answering questions regarding admissions policies, as well as be responsible for the application, interpretation and communication of admissions policies and procedures. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Two years of experience in office administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Demonstrates planning and organization skills.

Responsibilities:

  • Administrative Support - Participates in the planning and execution of administrative operations. Processes graduate program application documents. Reviews documents for supervisor. Attends meetings or committees on behalf of supervisor. Provides technical information regarding administrative procedures, services, or programs. Develops administrative and technical procedures. Researches, interprets, compiles, and responds to inquiries about rules, regulations, policies and procedures. May monitor compliance with policies and procedures. Coordinates travel arrangements for admitted students and staff traveling out of state for events and recruitment activities. Coordinates the delivery of student ID cards. Will serve as lead on all UIN creations and will oversee the creation of UINs for JD and Graduate programs. Makes recommendations for process improvements, administrative changes, or new initiatives. Ensures compliance with federal, state, institutional, and accrediting agency policies and procedures.

  • Data Collection, Reports, and Analysis - Collects, analyzes, and interprets admissions data (quantitative and qualitative) to produce internal and external reports, inform decisions, and guide actions. Develops and administers assessment instruments to measure the effectiveness of projects, initiatives, and activities. Responds to requests for information, preparing data in the desired format. Provides verbal and written activity updates upon request.

  • Office Manager - Serves as Office Manager of the Admissions department. Provides backup support performing reception duties when needed. Monitors office procedures. Develops, evaluates, and ensures adherence to office procedures. Coordinates the processing of mail, maintenance of files, records, office supplies, or equipment.

  • Project / Event Support - Provides support for School of Law Admissions events and activities. Analyzes requirements for projects or initiatives. Performs special analyses and project summaries. Coordinates meetings, seminars, and other special events and may provide on-site support.

  • Policy Management / Misc. - Applies, interprets, and communicates  admissions policies and procedures and serves as a resource for answering questions regarding admissions policies. Provides technical information regarding administrative procedures, services, or programs.

  • Service and Professional Development - Serves on committees, workgroups, and task forces as assigned. Maintains membership and actively engages in the activities of relevant professional organizations. Engages in continued education to improve skills and stay abreast of industry standards. Develops and updates training materials and delivers (or coordinates) training. Performs other duties as assigned.
