Carnegie Mellon is a private, global research university, internationally known in artificial intelligence, the performing arts, business administration, economics, and computer science. The Masters of Science in Computational Finance (MSCF) program, ranked one of the top-ranked quantitative finance programs in the country, is the joint venture between four Carnegie Mellon colleges, the Tepper School of Business, the Math Department in Mellon College of Science, the Statistics and Data Science Department in Dietrich School of Social Sciences and the Heinz College for Information Systems and Public Policy.

We are seeking an Admissions and Recruiting Officer for our MSCF program at our Tepper School of Business. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives in an interesting and challenging work environment. You will contribute to the department by providing essential support by assisting the MSCF Admissions team with operational and recruiting efforts throughout each application cycle.

Core responsibilities will include:

  • Coordination of recruitment events while serving as the secondary contact for virtual events and one-to-one prospective student counseling

  • Processing applications, but also reading applications and making initial admissions decision recommendation on approximately 200 files per year, and interview candidates for admission as needed

  • Assist with reporting and strategic data analysis as well as creating, coordinating, and driving marketing efforts (such as email campaigns) in the Admissions CRM, Slate

  • Processing admissions applications and following onboarding procedures like creating student records and requesting I-20 documentation

  • Evening and weekend work may occasionally be required

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

  • 1-3 years of experience in university admissions, student services or professional recruiting required

  • Equivalent combination of experience and/or education may be considered

  • Knowledge of Slate is preferred You should demonstrate

  • Adaptability and openness to change as the department and organization evolves

  • Ability to work well with others and as part of a team

  • Maintain confidential information and use discretion

  • Ability to pay close attention to detail; keep and maintain accurate and detailed reports and records

Requirements:

  • Successful background check

  • Valid Driver’s License – Department of Motor Vehicles

Though a Pittsburgh based position, this group’s supervisory team is based in New York. In accordance with the pay transparency legislation set forth by NY, the corresponding salary range for this position (PA market based) is anticipated to range between $47,500-$54,000 annually.

Additional Information:

  • Work Posture: This position is operating on a hybrid schedule, with an on-campus/in office presence three days a week.

  • Sponsorship: Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States. CMU will not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
