The NYU Institute for Cities and Real Estate in Emerging Markets at NYU Shanghai (‘ICREEM’) is a newly established, world-leading educational and research center on cities and real estate in emerging markets, with support from visionary industry leaders.

 

The Admissions and Marketing Manager will play a critical role in conceptualizing, developing, executing, and managing strategic marketing and communication strategies that enhance effective recruitment efforts and increase overall number and quality of the applicant pool and reinforce the ICREEM and its programs' brand awareness in China and globally.

 

The Manager will perform core admissions and recruitment efforts in addition to developing enhanced email marketing capacity, CRM and associated analytics, partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a collaborative approach to the communication and outreach efforts and deliver a cohesive message and brand across all public-facing platforms including digital, print, web, email, video, social media, digital advertising campaigns and virtual and in-person recruitment events.

 

The main responsibilities include:

 

Develop and execute full-funnel marketing and communications strategy (lead generation through enrollment) (50%) 

  • Develop all China-specific and global marketing efforts to increase quality leads for ICREEM Master’s programs and professional development programs;
  • Build partnerships with student associations, professional counterparties and agencies, and leading companies and associations in the Real Estate industry in China and globally to maximize the outreach plan and lead generation potential;
  • Design and execute all admissions email communication and campaigns using the graduate admissions office CRM (Slate);
  • Strategize, write, design, and format marketing assets for social media platforms, email communication and admitted students’ portal;
  • Review ICREEM’s website and public-facing pages to ensure accurate, timely content and liaise with the Operations Specialist to make edits while adhering to institutional branding guidelines;
  • Develop and manage the technical execution of all outreach campaigns (targeting unique populations and prospects with different academic interests) with a third-party partner and in-house, exploring new ways of updating content and making it dynamic and engaging;
  • Create, coordinate, strategize, and execute social media communication plans. Work with third-party agencies to implement media advertising, track success, and maintain engagement with students throughout the application process;
  • Develop content for admissions marketing materials, such as presentations, social media posts and other materials. This includes sourcing and creating original content for marketing materials from alumni and current students, faculty and other internal stakeholders;
  • Track ongoing market trends to inform strategies, channels and messaging and explore new ways to develop and deliver content;

 

Core admissions functions (50%) 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for admissions inquiries and consultations, providing in-depth information on admissions requirements, prerequisite courses, program resources and curriculum, scholarships, and career development resources;
  • Plan and execute on- and off-campus in-person and virtual recruitment and yield events, conducting information sessions, participating in recruiting events and panels, and in internal discussions regarding enrollment management;
  • Organize meetings and interviews for Admission Review Committee to evaluate applications;
  • Analyze admissions and event data, create reports for program and school-wide use; evaluate the effectiveness of current recruitment strategies and make recommendations for improvements; 
  • Manage the planning and execution of virtual and in-person events, both on-campus and in various locations in China and globally.


Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. A graduate professional degree highly valued;
  • Study abroad experience highly valued.

Required Experience

  • 5 years of full-time work experience in marketing and admissions in international higher education, or recruiting and sales in multinational organizations related to the Real Estate industry in China;
  • Experience in market research and analysis;
  • Proficiency in analyzing and synthesizing data;
  • Experience managing social media accounts, particularly WeChat official accounts and websites, for organizations or brands;
  • Experience in developing and executing targeted marketing campaigns across multiple channels in China and globally.

Preferred Experience

  • CRM experience creating tailored drip marketing campaigns for unique audiences;
  • Experience with developing and implementing integrated marketing strategies in higher education;
  • Experience in collaborating with advertisement agencies in China and the US;
  • Knowledge and experience in Real Estate related industries and connections with professionals in relative disciplines.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 

  • Knowledge of public relations and marketing/design best practices highly valued;
  • Proficiency in English required. Excellent oral (including public speaking) and written communication skills;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Applications, Google Docs/Apps, other database applications and Internet research;
  • Working knowledge of web and social media tools highly valued. Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and comparable design software highly valued;
  • Admissions events may take place during the evening and weekends, and Admissions Associates will be expected to attend and participate at these events;
  • China and international travel may be required;
  • Superior maturity, judgment, professionalism, attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills in English and Mandarin;
  • Self-motivated, outgoing, energetic, personable, team-spirited, dedicated and hard-working, with an ability to effectively promote NYU Shanghai and its programs;
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and independently in a cross-cultural environment, developing effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to implement programs successfully;
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and support institutional values while also thinking creatively about institutional problem-solving;
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
