Job Summary

The Graduate Program Admissions and Financial Aid Coordinator is a member of a team that processes 1800+ admission and financial aid applications to the LL.M., S.J.D., and Visitor Programs from a predominantly international applicant pool and provides assistance to other members of the Graduate Program and International Legal Studies department as needed. 


Position Description

As an Admissions and Financial Aid Coordinator you will: 

  • Process admissions and financial aid applications and related materials, including analyzing transcripts, calculating GPAs, and following up with applicants to obtain missing documents 

  • Review applicant submissions and credentials from 100+ countries and exercise discretion in determining eligibility, authenticity, and completeness 

  • Communicate with and direct application materials to faculty readers and admissions committee, ensuring an orderly and timely review process 

  • Prepare and oversee distribution of admission and financial aid notifications, and assist with the maintenance of student files and records, ensuring accuracy and proper storage 

  • Assist in the administration of financial aid and billing matters, including tracking financial aid awards, disbursement of financial aid, reviewing student billing transactions, and conducting periodic reconciliations and audits 

  • Assist with visa processing for students and visitors 

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for prospective applicants, applicants, and incoming students on all aspects of the Program 

  • Provide administrative support and assistance to the Assistant Dean 

  • Perform other duties as assigned 


Basic Qualifications

Three or more years related experience in office administration or business environment. Education beyond high school may count toward experience. 


Additional Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for people who: 

  • Have a bachelor’s degree (preferred)

  • Demonstrate effective writing, communication, interpersonal and time management skills¿ 

  • Have experience and enjoy working with a culturally and geographically diverse population 

  • Are able to stay organized and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment 

  • Have proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel 

  • Can work both independently with minimal supervision and as part of a small team 

  • Have strong quantitative skills  

  • Can manage large volumes of work and meet shifting deadlines with flexibility and poise 

  • Can handle complex and confidential matters with discretion and maturity 


Additional Information

Substantial overtime required during peak application season, including evening/weekend, winter recess and some holidays.
