What we want

The Admissions Analyst position serves the Office of Admissions by providing training support related to the admissions decision process, application process and communications management. This position works closely with Office of Admissions leadership team members to develop and implement strategic communication plans in Slate to support Admissions campus-wide efforts, while also handling special projects, as assigned, to support Enrollment Management and Admissions functions.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or any combination of education and experience.
  • 5 years of experience in Admissions at Texas A&M University.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Ability to function in a deadline-driven environment with multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Prior knowledge of Slate CRM, or demonstrate a high aptitude to learn.
  • Understands utilities of the Common application and ApplyTexas application workflows and database management.
  • Understands the needs of our stakeholder base.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in higher education, business administration, or related field.
  • Five years of administrative experience, which includes one year of database management experience and two-year's experience supervising and training employees.
  • Must demonstrate a commitment to consultation and cooperation with students, faculty, staff and administrators. Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to visualize, organize, and provide feedback to Leadership.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities at one time.
  • Ability to assist with the planning, installation and operation, and effective utilization of multiple software platforms.
  • Working knowledge of data management concepts. Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to work in an environment with a population representing various interests and perspectives is essential.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong customer service, and strong verbal and written communication skills

Essential Duties/Tasks

  • Communications Training - Develops training materials and coordinates staff training in the areas of Slate communications, decision letter generation and Undergraduate Review System updates. Assists in the development of site updates and management of the Program for System Admission site.
  • Admissions Applications & Decisions Management - Supports the management of the Applicant Information System and the posting of admissions decisions; troubleshoots issues and implements solutions to reduce processing delays. Trains staff on Common Application and ApplyTexas updates.
  • Collaboration - Collaborates with Office of Admissions, Undergraduate Recruitment and campus partners on various committees to stay informed about changes to curriculum that may impact the student application or decision process.
  • Professional Development - Serves on office search and planning committees. Attends and presents at state, regional and/or local conferences. Represents the Office of Admissions on campus, within the community, and/or at the state level when needed.
