JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Recruits students by traveling to high schools and college recruitment fairs.
  • Reviews, analyzes, and rates applications of students applying for admission.
  • Conducts information sessions for visiting students and parents, and may conduct campus tours.
  • Assists in coordinating alumni volunteer activities.
  • May review and edit financial aid forms.
  • Composes correspondence, and designs and generates reports.
  • Maintains communication via telephone, correspondence, and/or electronic mail with prospective students through all stages of the recruitment and admission process.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB DETAILS:

  • The Admission Advisor position contributes to all aspects of the admission process and is an important member of the team’s efforts to recruit, identify, and welcome new students to Oxford College of Emory University.
  • Core functions of this role include recruitment efforts on and off campus (including travel to represent the university, presentations, campus tours, and conducting information sessions)
  • Application review and participation as a member of the admission committee representing both the Oxford and Atlanta campuses.
  • Program and project work- specifically related to special events and the student tour guide program.
  • Building relationships with school counselors, students and families, faculty and staff, and others across campus and on Emory's Atlanta campus. 
  • Candidates are required to work alternative schedules during certain periods which would require some evening and weekend commitments. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a wide range of constituencies in a diverse community.

NOTE: Position tasks are generally required to be performed in-person at an Emory University location.  Remote work from home day options may be granted at department discretion. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
