Position Summary/Description:


This position is located in the Philosophy Department within the College of Arts and Sciences. The individual in this position serves as the principal communications manager, event coordinator, and general administrative support for the Parr Center. They are also the primary manager of the Center's financial record-keeping and yearly budget, responsible for carrying out all financial accounting procedures and monitoring the Center's financial accounts, budgets, and expenditures. This role is in charge of general day-to-day operations at the Parr Center and also assists with the different portfolios within the Center as needed. Organizing events, corresponding with visiting speakers, creating event promotional materials, managing social media accounts, greeting students and faculty as they enter the Parr Center, and updating the website are some of the recurring duties of this position. This position also serves as the Assistant to the Center Director, managing calendars and providing overall administrative support. Finally, this role coordinates the Center's Graduate Fellows program and presides over all staff meetings and retreats. This position also serves as the backup for Events Coordination of the Philosophy Department.

Education and Experience:


High school diploma or equivalency; or demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.
