ROLE of the POSITION

The Administrative Student Affairs Coordinator (ASAC) position exists to support the faculty and students in vital department of physical therapy tasks. This position will help manage student databases, student advising and recruitment, student admissions, event planning, alumni newsletter production, and website management. The position will require some local and out-of-state travel. In addition, this position will have considerable latitude to work independently within the scope of these and other assigned tasks.

The position requires excellent communication skills as the successful applicant will be expected to work well in a dynamic team environment and will report to the Department Chair, the Director of Clinical Education (DCE), the Program Assessment Chair, the Admissions & Recruitment Chair, and other department committee chairs such as (Scholarship and Media committees). This position will also be responsible for delegation of tasks to department administrative assistants and student employees.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position requires a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university (Communications or Marketing preferred) and related work experience in database management, event planning, and media management.
  • Experience and efficiency with standard office communications including typing, emailing, phone calls, reading, writing, and reading comprehension.
  • Credentials must be obtained prior to the start of employment. 
  • Preferred qualifications include previous work experience in a health sciences academic program with preference given to experience within a graduate or professional level program such as physical therapy or occupational therapy, experience with college recruitment and/or admissions, a degree in or relevant work experience in human resources, communications, marketing, or business management.

SALARY RANGE

Salary competitive with those at similarly situated institutions. Position is contingent upon funding.
