ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The USF Bay Area Early Steps Program holds the Children's Medical Services Early Steps contract for the Bay Area, which covers Hillsborough and Polk Counties. Early Steps is Florida's early intervention system that offers services to eligible infants and toddlers (birth to thirty-six months) with significant delays or a condition likely to result in a developmental delay. Early Intervention is provided to support families and caregivers via service coordination, developmental assessment, and developmental intervention.
POSITION SUMMARY:
USF Bay Area Early Steps is required to onboard this new position, Professional Development and Credentialing Coordinator (PDDC). The PDDC is now part of our grant funding for participation in the Statewide Systematic Improvement Plan (SSIP) to implement and evaluate policies and practices that enhance programmatic implementation of early intervention supports. As part of SSIP funding, the PDDC is responsible for supporting and tracking professional development activities of Early Steps staff, assist with recruitment and onboarding of new Service Coordinators and Direct Service Providers, and oversee that all Early Steps staff and provider information is maintained, thoroughly documented, and updated per policy and Medicaid requirements.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the professional development for Early Steps internal and contracted staff and providers related to SSIP and other related aspects of the Early Steps program to include:

  • Coordinate scheduling and development of staff and provider workshops
  • Track and maintain records related to staff and provider training and implement follow-up to ensure training requirements are met by all staff
  • Coordinate ongoing meetings, mentorship, and other professional development to support staff and providers? implementation of practices


Early Steps program, including specific SSIP requirements to include:

  • Assist with recruitment of Early Steps staff and providers via review of applications, submission of hiring packets, and other related duties
  • Monitor the onboarding of new staff to ensure all education and experience requirements meet Early Steps and SSIP policy requirements.
  • Assist with development of mentorship and support activities that aide in retention and professional development of Early Steps staff


Support and implement data collection, tracking, and reporting activities, to include:

  • Maintenance of staff and provider records to ensure thorough documentation, compliance with Early Steps programmatic and SSIP requirements, Medicaid requirements, and university personnel record guidelines.


Support the technology components of staff and provider onboarding, training, and tracking to ensure compliance and efficiency with SSIP and overall program deliverables.

  • Provide technical assistance to Early Steps SSIP staff and providers to support their collection of training data and the transfer of data using the required platforms
  • Provide technical assistance for development of staff and provider workshops
  • Update and deliver training presentations, code videos of provider’s clinical skills, and participate in audits of our program processes related to training providers in FL-EPIC.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, with at least four years of experience in an office or administrative support position. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED:
Knowledge about Part C of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and the FL Early Steps program; experience with HR recruitment and onboarding; experience with designing, delivering, or evaluating professional development; familiarity with a range of technology and technology applications and ability to provide technical assistance as needed.
