  • JOB DUTIES

Description

Under the direct supervision of the Bowyer Treatment and Oncology Center Director and Practice Manager, the Training Specialist is responsible for facilitating training and competency evaluations for administrative staff in the Bowyer. The incumbent will possess in-depth knowledge of oncology scheduling and authorizations and will use this information along with their understanding of adult learning theory to create and maintain training material. In addition to training duties, the incumbent is expected to provide coverage for staff absences and will be a resource for staff when patients have complaints, or when complex questions arise in clinic. Salary Range: $71,500.00-$154,900.00/annually

Qualifications

Required: * At least two years oncology scheduling or authorization experience. – REQUIRED * Previous demonstrated expertise in leading patient services in a busy, complex outpatient setting – REQUIRED * Skill in analyzing information, problems, situations and procedures to define objectives, identify pattern and formulate conclusions – REQUIRED * Skill in setting priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities – REQUIRED * Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaborations and problem solving with all levels of management, staff, providers, and fellows from various social, cultural and economic backgrounds – REQUIRED * Skill in verbal communications to clearly convey complex problems and proposals in both formal and informal situations – REQUIRED * Ability to creatively integrate competing demands of a multi-specialty setting into a productive working environment – REQUIRED * Ability to interact diplomatically and sympathetically with a patient population in varying degrees of health – REQUIRED * Ability to work overtime in cases of emergency – REQUIRED * At least one year of training experience – RECOMMENDED * Knowledge of adult learning theory, with the ability to train, monitor, evaluate, and document learning and performance, and to participate in decision-making on training and development matters. – RECOMMENDED * Knowledge to schedule patient appointments and encounter patients using CareConnect/EPIC – RECOMMENDED Working knowledge of research-oriented patient care systems – RECOMMENDED Working knowledge of University policies and procedures to appropriately manage accounting systems, cashiering, risk management and personnel – RECOMMENDED
