JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:  The Administrative Project Manager 1 ensures the successful execution of accreditation projects and the continuous improvement of processes in alignment with CODA guidelines.

 

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Articulates the specific goals and outcomes the project aims to achieve within the academic context.
  • Defines and documents the quality standards that project deliverables must meet; develops and implements processes and procedures to ensure quality of work.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and implements changes to enhance project quality.  
  • For course projects, ensures the curriculum management is ongoing, meets the defined competencies of the school, eliminates unwarranted repetition, and incorporates emerging information and technologies to support the dental education program curriculum.
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
  • Creates realistic and detailed project schedules outlining key milestones, deadlines, and dependencies.
  • Continuously reviews and updates the project schedule to reflect any changes or adjustments; communicates project timelines clearly to all team members and stakeholders.
  • Collaborates with the College of Dentistry Business Office to estimate financial requirements for the entire project lifecycle; develops a detailed budget that includes expenses for personnel, materials, and other relevant resources; tracks and analyzes project expenditures against budget and adjusts as needed.
  • Conducts risk assessments to identify potential risks and uncertainties that may impact project success and develops a risk management plan.
  • Serves as point of contact for teams when multiple units are assigned to the same project to ensure team actions remain in synergy.
  • Delegates tasks on the projects to employees best positioned to complete them.
  • Performs other duties as required.

    Qualifications

     

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:   

    EDUCATION:  Bachelor’s Degree. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

     

    EXPERIENCE:  Two (2) years of experience with communications and project management; OR an equivalent of education and related work experience to equal eight (8) years.

     

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of dental accreditation (CODA), project management, regulatory compliance, educational institutions, quality assurance, and sponsor management.
    • Skill to execute project planning, communication, and problem-solving challenges.
    • Ability to collaborate with diverse committee bodies.
    • Ability to adapt to changes within the project scope.
    • Proven leadership capabilities to guide accreditation and other type projects.
    • Ability to think critically to make informed decisions and contribute to continuous improvement and conflict resolution.
    • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.

    WORK SCHEDULE: This position may occasionally be required to work weekends.
