Work Activities

a. Responsible for assisting the department director in ongoing evaluation of best practice, staff competencies, and implementation of best practice measures to ensure deliver of quality patient care.

b. Acts as a professional leadership role model.

c. Promotes and supports Shared Leadership as the selected method of nursing governance.

d. Actively participates in organizational communication processes through timely review and response to electronic and written messages.

e. Demonstrates competency of all departmental IS applications

f. Establishment of regular communication processes with physicians, nurses and management to review current status, variances, resolutions, and programs as needed.

g. Participates in the process improvement of nursing systems.

h. Participates in developing and implementing quality indicators

i. Provides analysis and interpretation of data

j. Collaborates with hospital leadership in the management of house wide patient flow and capacity. k. Other duties as assigned.
