Administrative/Credentialing Specialist

Purpose

Under general direction, perform routine and advanced administrative duties requiring considerable skill and in-depth knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.  Coordinate and maintain the departmental website.  Supports a centralized credentialing initiative within the department and assists with provider licensure applications.

Primary Functions

  • Coordinates department website changes with input from the Department Chairman, Division Cheifs and other faculty and staff.  Establishes and maintains a standard web format so as to promote a consistent format across the department.
  • Independently completes licensing forms and correspondence for lisensure and credentilaing to facilitate the timely licensure and crentialing of MDs, APNs and PAs.
  • Coordinates submission of necessary documents from external organizations (e.g. other state licensing boards, medical schools, residency programs, etc.)  to support the licensing of departmental personnel.
  • Assists with completion of detailed forms for credentialing of faculty, APPs and others as needed.
  • Anticipate and initiate action regarding administrative functions while coordinating and leading projects.
  • Compose correspondence as needed, which may contain confidential information.
  • Use complex functions of a variety of computer applications and software packages to develop macros and templates.
  • Proofread and format documents to ensure accuracy.
  • Screen telephone calls and visitors to resolve complex inquiries.
  • Coordinate schedules, meetings, appointments, and travel itineraries and related arrangements.
  • Compile data and information from multiple sources to prepare reports.
  • Process payment requests, requisitions, and invoices.
  • Distribute mail and organize filing systems accurately maintaining records.

Knowledge – Skills – Abilities 

Knowledge of computers, clerical procedures, customer service standards, collaboration, and information management.

Organization, time management, interpersonal, communication, and problem solving skills.

Preferred Schedule:
Monday through Friday 8:00-4:30 and hours as needed

Appropriate experience may be substituted for education on an equivalent basis

Minimum Required Education:         High school diploma

Minimum Required Experience:        5 years of experience

Preferred Experience:                     Credentialing
