Job Description

Works under general supervision and provides administrative support for a unit or specialized activity to include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides administrative support to professional staff and faculty in preparation of letters, and memoranda in final format. Corrects and produces in final format manuscripts, flyers, and brochures. Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares itineraries for faculty.
  • Responsible for coordinating departmental databases as needed for student records, faculty records, form student records and other data as needed.
  • Prepares presentation and communication material as needed by administrative staff and faculty.
  • Composes/modifies correspondence, reports, publications, and presentations, including editing and proof reading. Periodically prepares data/information for department.
  • Maintain confidential information such as research documents and class tests.
  • Prepare and send faxes and email communications. Copies, prints, binds, scans.
  • Create slide presentations
  • Coordinates department committee meetings to include meeting minutes and logistical arrangements.
  • Assists with external and internal faculty award nomination preparation.
  • Orders promotional items
  • Coordinates distinguished visitor itineraries
  • Assists with faculty candidate search process and coordinates interviews
  • Maintains supplies in departmental common areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience

  • Two years of related experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others. Interpersonal and communication skills. Planning and organization skills.
