Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Two years of experience in office administration.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proficient in word processing, spreadsheet and presentation applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, planning and organizational skills.
  • Customer support skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours (nights, weekend and holidays) as required to complete assigned duties.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Technical experience involved with computer hardware, software, programming or other technical fields.
  • Two years' experience in office administration or project management.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as office manager for IT area and assists with necessary operational responsibilities such as budget tracking, placing departmental orders, coordinating travel arrangements and itineraries, and preparing post travel reports. Prepares and reviews documentation for IT staff. Serves as a point of contact for IT and Athletics staff.  Assists with the hiring, training, and supervision of student workers. 
  • Responsible for maintaining schedules and coordinating meetings, seminars, and other special events and may provide on-site support and be responsible for hosting guests.  Manages the inventory and coordinates the maintenance of equipment and supplies. Oversees student workers who distribute daily mail. Oversees the shipment of important documents. Assists with assessing department procedures and implementing, recommending improvements and enforcement of policies. Assists with tasks related to the onboarding of new staff.Coordinates the information technology help desk for the Athletics ticket system. Assigns tickets out accordingly to student workers or more technical professionals. Submits tickets that come in via the phone. Assists with team and departmental communications by providing technical information regarding administrative procedures, services, or programs supported by the IT department.
  • Assists in the creation of reports for internal use or external Texas A&M entities. Researches information for new departmental projects and assignments.
  • Provides basic and technical support for the information technology help desk.
  • Maintains continual and thorough familiarity with all applicable NCAA, Southeastern Conference and Texas A&M University rules and regulations. Establishes and ensures communication and enforcement of rules and regulations for all staff members and student workers supervised.  Compliance is a shared responsibility.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
