Job Summary

 

The Scheduling Coordinator will prepare, maintain, and update the database required each semester to create the University’s Master Schedule of Classes and provides the needed information for scheduling operations.  They will monitor various audit reports to ensure accuracy in course offerings and work directly with departmental schedule deputies to correct prior to student enrollment. Also assist with the scheduling of 270+ classrooms for recurring course activities.  Serves as backup for other scheduling related administrative duties.  

 

What you will be doing:

Serves as central clearing point for thousands of changes requested by academic departments for a given semester.  
Enters and verifies correctness of all data within extremely demanding time constraints to avoid serious and wide-ranging consequences. 
Negotiates course limit changes, time changes, etc to solve student scheduling and room problems. 
Enters and audits changes and adjustments.  
Advises departmental areas regarding best practices. 
Provides guidance and training to departmental schedule deputies to ensure solid understanding of data entry process. 
What we are looking for: 

 

Required:
High School diploma or GED required.  
Four years of office experience required. 
Excellent interpersonal skills for frequent contact with various campus partners required.  
Thorough knowledge of university class scheduling policies and exam regulations.  
Mental alertness, good judgment, ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure to make high impact decisions. 
Personal computer and related software skills, e.g. spreadsheets, database, data query, internet, etc 

 

Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience preferred.
Experience in a university setting with a background in master schedule construction and/or course scheduling is preferred.   
Proficiency in Unitime
