A part of the Texas A&M University Health Science Center, Texas A&M College of Dentistry in Dallas was founded in 1905 and is a nationally recognized center for oral health sciences education, research, specialized patient care and continuing dental education.

The College of Dentistry is looking for an Administrative Assistant to serve as a member of the Clinical Affairs team. We desire an individual who subscribes to and supports our commitment as stated above. The successful applicant will bring an expert level of needed experience to the position and understand the demands of supporting executives in a fast-paced environment. This person must be professional, enjoy working in a high-volume environment and be able to apply strong organizational skills while being flexible in their daily routine. Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Excellent written communication, analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a high stress environment.
  • Ability to work with sensitive information and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently once given a project.
  • Experience working with diverse individuals and communities

Required Other Requirements:

  • Work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends.

Responsibilities:

  • Greets and assists visitors to the Office of Clinical Affairs
  • Receives payments for record requests, badge replacements, other school related fees.
  • Develops procedures for complex or specialized functions. Responds to inquiries and interprets rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Provides back-up assistance to the Sr. Administrative Coordinator
  • Coordinates the maintenance of files, records, office supplies, or equipment. Makes recommendations for process improvements, administrative changes, or new initiatives.
  • Coordinates requests for patient records release from axiUm.
  • Coordinates daily office support activities and administrative interactions. Assists in the coordination of daily work flow and the resolution of complex, highly sensitive and confidential matters. Provide organizational planning and problem solving skills.
  • Provides back-up coverage for the entry lobby desk personnel for breaks and lunch.
  • Other duties as assigned
