The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for an Administrative Assistant V to serve as a member of the A&M Rural and Community Health Institute team. Job Summary: Works under general supervision and provides highly advanced administrative support for multiple programs with the A&M Rural and Community Health Institute (ARCHI). This position works with clinical team to conduct meetings, medical management of HIPAA compliant documents, and maintains database information for various programs. May work with Patient Safety Organization (PSO) activities to include Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP).

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • Five years of related experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft Office products, HIPAA training, good knowledge of initiating and maintaining spreadsheets (Excel) and word processing software.
  • Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.  Ability to perform all tasks and job responsibilities safely without injury to self and others in compliance with A&M System and HSC guidelines.  Provide a safe environment that fosters respect, inclusion and equality of all faculty, staff, students and visitors.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree.
  • Experience working in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates and supports functions for the KSTAR Nursing, NQSC and MBQIP programs under the direction of the program managers.
  • Supports and assists the physician peer review team and administrative staff with management of medical records and files as needed.
  • Maintains CNE database and disseminates all CNE certificates.
  • Works with the Director of Quality and Safety and Director of Operations on specialized projects as they present, to include grants and new programs and services and assist APU team with setting up webinars.
  • Enters HRSA reports to facilitate existing database. Maintains hospital contact list. Maintain and update CRM tool. Create/maintain user accounts in MBQIP.
  • Enters programmatic data into the various databases assigned to this position.
  • Works collaboratively with the Director of Quality regarding contracts; is responsible for processing contract renewals for the TSN/PSO and NQSC programs.
  • As needed may work with documents that include Patient Safety Work Product (PSWP) for the ARCHI Patient Safety Organization (PSO) #79.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
