Job Description

The NSF-funded BREDEI (Broadening Research Experiences for HSI STEM Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) team is seeking a part-time Administrative Associate starting from November 2021 to coordinate project-related activities. The Administrative Associate will work with the project Principal Investigator (Dr. Walter Den of Water Resources Science and Technology) to streamline the project-related student and faculty activities.

The Administrative Associate will primarily coordinate the day-to-day operation, schedule events, organize workshops and the logistics, and in some cases, lead or assist in leading student field environmental training activities and workshops. The Administrative Associate will also assist in report preparation and data acquisition such as questionnaires and surveys.

The project runs from September 1, 2021, through August 31, 2023. This is a two-year, service-oriented position to maximize undergraduate student learning experience. The contract for the second year will be contingent upon the performance evaluation of the first year. The position is fully funded by the National Science Foundation (NSF) project and comes with a complete benefits package as an employee of Texas A&M University-San Antonio. The monthly salary for the position is $1,250 per month for 8 months an academic year.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in natural and environmental sciences and related fields.

  • Four years of related work experience.

  • Excellent organization skills.

  • Strong field research and quantitative skills.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in natural and environmental sciences and related field.

  • Masters or higher in natural and environmental sciences and related field.

  • Preferred field: ecology, water management, environmental science.

  • Excellent writing and communication skills.
