Job Description

Works under general supervision of the Director of New Student Programs and provides administrative support to include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance.

Managing Office/Front Desk Responsibilities – 50%

  • Participates in the planning and execution of administrative operations. May serve as the office manager. Monitors office procedures. Develops, evaluates, and ensures adherence to office procedures.

  • Provide administrative support to answering front line questions to incoming students and their families, while also serving as a liaison for NSP and the Welcome Center

  • Applies and interprets, and/or assists in implementing management policies or operating practices. Develops administrative and technical procedures for the office support staff

  • Researches, interprets, compiles, and responds to inquiries about rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. May monitor compliance with policies and procedures.

  • Coordinates travel arrangements and prepares itineraries. Coordinates meetings, seminars, and other special events and may provide on-site supports.

  • Coordinates the maintenance of files, records, office supplies, or equipment. Makes recommendations for process improvements, administrative changes, or new initiatives

  • Assists in the checkout of reserved equipment for programs.

  • Remove NSO Holds for students

  • Assist and support New Student Orientation operations

Student Supervision – 20%

  • Hires, trains, and supervises student workers and support staff

  • Supervise front desk workers to complete assigned tasks and responsibilities

Budget and Procurement – 20%

  • Assist with monthly budget reconciliation and tracking for New Student Programs

  • Assist with all purchase orders and monitor all purchase orders and open purchases

Additional Responsibilities – 10%

  • Assist the Executive Director of Campus Life on special projects

  • Reviews documents for supervisors. Attends meetings or committees on behalf of the supervisors

  • Support the department with Baseline Survey projects with the Director of SSE Assessment

Required Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma.

  • Four years of related experience.
