Job Description:

Works under general supervision and provides administrative support for a unit or specialized activity to include the exercise of discretion and independent judgement with respect to matters of significance.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinates travel for departmental visitors, to include seminar series, workshops, and invited guests.
  • Assists with planning departmental events, scholarship banquet, advisory board meetings, etc.
  • Coordinates meetings, seminars and other special events and provide on-site support.
  • Coordinates the maintenance of files and records.
  • Coordinates logistics with Camp SOAR.
  • Supervises Student Workers.
  • Performs special analyses and data entry for assessment.
  • Coordinates annual departmental scholarship process.
  • Provides clerical support to departmental administration as needed.
  • Greets visitors; answer and screen telephone calls; screen and route mail; receive, store and distribute supplies; request services such as mail, pick up and delivery, printing and equipment maintenance.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Experience:

  • Four years of related experience.

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor's degree

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications.
  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Planning and organization skills.
  • Preferred experience with TAMU system travel.
