Job Description

Works under supervision and performs entry-level administrative support work. This position is located at a satellite office in Dallas, TX.


Responsibilities:

  • Serves a primary contact for daily office support activities including greeting and directing visitors; answering, directing, and managing phone calls; managing incoming mail and calls; responding to non-routine information requests, correspondence and inquiries; and scheduling both face-to-face and virtual meetings.

  • Develops, evaluates and ensures adherence to office procedures. Manages daily office support activities such as student worker and intern coordination, office maintenance issues, and key control. Requests services such as mail pick-up and delivery and printing and equipment maintenance. Maintains and purchases all general office supplies and equipment.

  • Serves as primary administrative support for the Texas Child & Family Study including supplies, managing equipment maintenance and travel arrangements, preparing itineraries and travel vouchers as well as other duties as needed.

  • Performs other duties assigned.

Required Education & Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • One year of experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.

  • Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with others.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or higher degree in relevant field (e.g., psychology, social work, sociology, public policy, or public health).

  • Two to five years of professional administrative experience in a higher education setting.

  • Experience working with stakeholders and community residents in target area.
