The College of Science seeks an Administrative Assistant who will contribute to exemplary advising services for our undergraduate students. This position supports the Director of Undergraduate Education and Academic Advising and a staff of 30 advisors. 
 

The College of Science seeks an Administrative Assistant who will contribute to exemplary advising services for our undergraduate students. This position supports the Director of Undergraduate Education and Academic Advising and a staff of 30 advisors. As our Administrative Assistant you will provide administrative support for the Director of Undergraduate Education and Academic Advising and a staff of 30 advisors and perform a variety of administrative tasks including maintaining calendars, scheduling meetings and events, arranging travel or handling incoming inquiries. You may create agendas, flyers, or promotional materials, and update and maintain websites, databases and mailing lists. You will also assist in preparing reports. What We're Looking For:

Education and Experience:

  • High School Degree or GED
  • Minimum of Two (2) years in a clerical or administrative support role 

 

Skills Needed:

  • Excellent customer service, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and attention to detail
  • Computer and related software skills to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
  • Typing, drafting, filing, data entry, proofreading and editing skills
  • Ability to:
    • Handle frequent interruptions, balance multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain confidentiality
    • Identify routine problems and implement or recommend solutions
