This role serves as the scheduling coordinator for the Department of Radiology in our Westwood Medical Center. The Administrative Assistant III (AAIII) provides scheduling and patient coordination to the Interventional Radiology Consultation Center. You will work collaboratively with PRFS for financial questions/concerns identified by the patient, parent or guardian. Work collaboratively with VIR and CSIR procedure schedulers with regards to scheduling questions/concerns. Communicate with referring service/physician on all patient-related matters involving the outpatient population. The AAIII will be assigned tasks including: Scheduling appointments in Westwood and Santa Monica locations but not limited to these locations, sending out new patient packets, generating UCLA ID numbers for new patients, updating patient information in Care Connect, confirming insurance authorizations are on file (when applicable), communicating all fees to the patient, greeting patients on arrival, obtaining all appropriate medical records, labs, photos as well as maintaining patient charts. Active participation in clinic patient flow and quality improvement process. Salary range: $26.99-$38.66 Annual

Qualifications

Working knowledge of hospital/billing forms and the ability to explain services and charges to patients and/or familyStrong working knowledge of personal computers, HIS, RIS, LORAD, PACSCUBE CD Burner, Array DigitizerSkill in quickly assimilating and retaining a large body of financial screening and patient registration information.Skill in analyzing information or situations to define a problem, identify relevant concerns, formulate logical and objective conclusions and alternatives.Medical terminology to a level permitting accurate preparation of scheduling patient procedures interacting with physicians, patients and staff.Ability to use mathematical skills to efficiently analyze various pertinent data related to workload and finance.Ability to handle confidentiality issues with tact and diplomacy.Ability to establish comfortable relationships with patients and their family member(s).Ability to adjust to changing priorities, frequent interruptions, deadlines, emergencies and heavy workload.
