Position Overview:

The Administrative Assistant II will provide administrative, communications, and operational support to the Office of Equity and Civil Rights (ECR). This position requires the ability to work with confidential and highly sensitive information and maintain confidentiality in compliance with university policies, procedures, and federal and state laws/regulations.

Telework:

A hybrid telework schedule may be available. 

Responsibilities:

Duties Include:

  • Managing the calendars; scheduling, arranging, and making arrangements for meetings
  • Composing, reviewing and tracking correspondence; providing proofreading and editing assistance
  • Responding to routine inquiries regarding the work of ECR
  • Receiving and screening telephone calls, emails, and visitors
  • Making all necessary travel arrangements 
  • Independently performing administrative follow-up and recordkeeping
  • Managing, preparing paperwork and maintaining records;
  • May be responsible for performing duties in payroll and procurement
  • Other duties as assigned
Required Minimum Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Three (3) years of administrative experience required.

  • Must have the ability to multi-task and have a keen attention to detail.

  • Must act with discretion and ensure confidentiality of information.

  • Strong writing, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills required.

  • Demonstrated ability to work toward university goals and interests to include a demonstrated interest in fostering inclusive excellence.

Note: Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills, and abilities required may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience.

Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

  • Knowledge of discrimination, harassment, and/or DEI-related work is preferred.
