JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
Serve as the administrative assistant to the Chair and Faculty of the Department of Social Sciences at Cameron University.
Job Duties as an Administrative Assistant I include but are not limited to:
- Greet students and visitors.
- Maintain an appointment calendar for the department chair.
- Screen calls and visitors and refer them to the appropriate office or person.
- Sort incoming mail and prepare outgoing mail. Maintain an efficient filing system for the department.
- Type syllabi, tests, correspondence, reports, requisitions, and other materials for departmental faculty and adjuncts.
- Prepare and submit required paperwork for payroll, travel/leave requests, etc.
- Maintain and order supplies for the office.
- Coordinate textbooks and other academic materials with faculty and adjuncts.
- Maintain budget information for multiple accounts.
- Submit and monitor work orders with Physical Facilities and the IT Department.
- Coordinate visits for potential new faculty hires. Maintain the departmental webpage.
- Coordinate the student advisors list. Proctor make-up exams for students.
- Manage classroom reservations. Supervise and manage student office worker(s).
