Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Department of Earth, Marine and Environmental Sciences (EMES) at UNC-CH advances understanding of the earth and ocean processes that govern our planet, shape diverse ecosystems, sustain life, and drive environmental change. Position Summary
The Collaboratory for Coastal Adaptation over Space and Time (C-CoAST) seeks a project assistant to provide administrative and logistical support for its activities on a part-time, hourly basis (10-20 hours/week) for a duration of one year. Responsibilities include developing and managing the online participant directory, C-CoAST listserv, website updates, as well as outreach, technical and logistical support for outreach activities and data collection associated with them. The project assistant will work with and be supervised by Professor Moore (C-CoAST PI/Director) and Dr. Anarde (C-CoAST Project Manager).
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or equivalency and one year of related office experience; or equivalent combination of training and experience.

Preferred Education and Experience: The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, independent worker who takes direction well; has excellent oral and written communication skills; is tech savvy and highly skilled in the use of programs such as Power Point, Google Docs, Zoom, Slack, Lyris and Word Press; has an understanding of IRB protocols; has completed the Citicorp IRB training; and has an interest in supporting a growing network of interdisciplinary researchers, stakeholders and practitioners who seek to build the capacity to conduct large-scale research in support of coastal resilience.

Campus Security Authority Responsibilities

This position is designated as a Campus Security Authority in accordance with the Clery Act. This position will be required to report Clery crimes to the Clery Compliance Manager and complete annual training about reporting responsibilities.
