Come join the staff at OU HSC and become a part of Oklahoma's premier research university which leads the state in education and career opportunities. OU HSC is one of only four comprehensive academic health centers in the nation with seven professional colleges.

Duties:

  • Develops policies, procedures, and goals.
  • Oversees the budget process, resolves problems, manages personnel, communicates effectively with staff, and implements programs in order to maximize the effectiveness of assigned operations, administrative oversight, and support.
  • Responsible for the management of group initiatives and special projects..
  • Assists in the development and implementation of clinical or operational policies and procedures in compliance with the University, NIH, federal and state guidelines.
  • Develops strategic and operating plans and standardizes centralized clinical operations. 
  • Recommends improvements to existing policies and procedures.
  • Develops and implements strategic and business goals of the organization.
  • Manages projects for growth and revenue enhancement.
  • Plans, models, and analyzes growth opportunities.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of certain initiatives.
  • Works with the subordinate directors and managers, as well as physicians, to ensure operations are compliant with approved budgets.
  • Participates in the review of expenditures and makes recommendations for improvement. · 
  • Oversees problem resolution in conjunction with Operations Directors.
  • Mentors staff in effective problem resolution.
  • Supervises the activities and performance of the departments or centers non-faculty staff.
  • Conducts performance appraisals, recommends merit increases, and assesses staff needs.
  • Proactively participates in management functions and serves as a positive role model for peers and staff including making recommendations for organizational improvement.
  • Interacts positively with Clinic Medical Directors, Section Chiefs, Department Chairs and Executive Team.
  • Develops sound relationships designed to improve communication and support. 
  • Oversees planning and development of new services including program analysis and funding.
  • Coordinates related capital equipment negotiations and purchases.
  • Oversees planning and construction of new facilities as well as associated project reporting.
  • Performs various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the position.
 

Job Requirements

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or closely related field AND:

  • 60 months experience in health care administration, business administration, organization management, or professional billing with demonstrated competence in the development and implementation of related programs and management of resources.

Skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of creating policy and procedures.
  • Advanced knowledge of developing strategic and operating plans.
  • Ability to supervise.     
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop and maintain business relationships.
  • Ability to handle conflict in a professional manner.

Working Conditions:

  • Physical: Sit for prolonged periods. Communicates effectively. Ability to engage in repetitive motion.

Supervision: Admin Asst., Grant Manager, Admin/Finance Coordinator, Marketing & Communications Specialist, and IT Web Manager.
