Job Description


This part-time hourly wage position provides administrative and logistical support to the interdisciplinary Molecular and Cellular Biology graduate program. The incumbent will coordinate graduate student admissions, orientation, advising, funding, and performance review for the MCB graduate program. In this capacity, the position serves as liaison to the Graduate School, Registrar's Office, Bursar's Office, and other appropriate university offices, academic units, and institutes. The incumbent will advise graduate students on administrative procedures as well as track grades, evaluations, and plans of study, and maintain and secure graduate student files.

Part-time hours are somewhat flexible between the hours of 8am and 4pm.  


Required Qualifications

-Experience providing administrative support including records management and scheduling or coordinative duties.
-Working knowledge of graduate student advising policies and procedures|Working knowledge of budgeting and fiscal procedures|Excellent organizational and analytical skills.
-Excellent communication skills|Ability to multitask in a deadline oriented environment.
-Experience working with a diverse group of people and with confidential material.


Preferred Qualifications

-Bachelor's degree, or equivalent level of training and experience.
-Experience preparing and managing budgets.
-Experience using HokieMart.
-Experience using Banner.


Salary Information

Commensurate with experience but within budget maximum


Additional Information

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
