Admin & Finance Coordinator
George Mason University’s SciTech Campus Executive Office, which oversees the day-to-day operations and administration of the SciTech Campus, seeks an individual with office administration and budgeting experience to serve as the Admin & Finance Coordinator. The successful candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced, detail oriented, customer service environment. They must possess experience in scheduling and organizing meetings, have financial management and budgeting skills; and, experience with office administrative support functions. Previous knowledge of George Mason or other university experience is a plus.

Responsibilities:

The Admin & Finance Coordinator will report to the Associate Director of Administration and will be responsible for:
  • Provide administrative and operational support to the Associate Director of Administration and the Associate Director of Operations;
  • Provide financial tracking, reconciliation and documentation of all SciTech Administration, Foundation, and Events Management accounts (ORGS);
  • Have working knowledge of university programs, processes and procedures including but not limited to Banner, MicroStrategy, eVerify, 25Live, Excel, FreshBooks, Outlook; and, purchasing and accounts payable;
  • Serve as telecom coordinator and equipment inventory liaison for SciTech Executive Office;
  • Provide backup operational and event support for the SciTech Campus and Potomac Science Center when needed;
  • Maintain the Physical Space Database and Campus Listserv(s), and assist with maintaining the Emergency Response Manual;
  • General office duties including, but not limited to, submitting work orders; ordering office supplies; reporting with campus vending machines; and, scheduling recurring meetings for operations and administrative staff members; and
  • Works as a team player on committees and special projects representing the SciTech Campus Executive Office including the annual holiday luncheon and/or other campus events.

Required Qualifications:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently with a diverse audience, including faculty and staff, students and the community;
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills;
  • Experience with office administrative support including using computers to manage projects, calendars, schedules, and inventory;
  • Financial management and budgeting skills for handling billing and accounts receivable as well as managing the office operational budget;
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment and to function within defined guidelines and procedures to resolve routine issues and to make independent and logical decisions and be proactive to resolve issues within and outside of the department; and
  • Associate’s degree in business administration or a related field, or any equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:
