Essential Duties:

· Acts as a secretary to the Director

· Types all correspondence

· Initiates, copies, and distributes departmental letters and memos

· Prepares financial spreadsheets

· Prepares legal and governmental documentation as required.

· Reviews, edits, and rewrites departmental policy and procedure manuals.

· Maintains an accurate and effective departmental filing system

· Processes in-coming mail

· Makes travel arrangements as needed

· Processes and prints various reports

· Screens incoming calls

· Directs calls to appropriate personnel

· Distributes job requests for repairs and/or maintenance as needed

· Places calls to others for departmental business

· Maintains an up-to-date telephone directory for hospital-wide use

· Records and writes minutes of departmental meetings

· Records and writes minutes of Safety Committee meetings

· As needed, records and writes minutes of security meetings

· Completes other duties as assigned.

 

Competencies Required:

Education and Experience
Required: good communication skills and ability to make independent decisions 

Preferred: High school graduate or equivalent Minimum of three years secretarial experience and minimum of one year experience in word processing, databases, and spreadsheets minimum of 60 WPM. Shorthand or fast note-taking helpful.

  • Hospital Mandatory Education Requirements: Orientation, Environment of Care, OSHA, Infection control, Abuse/Neglect, Ethics, etc. 
  • Tuberculosis Screening
