Job Summary

The Department of Health Management and Policy in the Dornsife School of Public Health invites applications for an adjunct faculty member to serve as Instructor for HMP-853 Health Economics II. This course is a 3-credit online course that will be offered during the Spring quarter of the 2023-2024 academic year (April 1, 2024 through June 15, 2024). This is the second course in a 2-course sequence focused on health economics. The course is a hybrid (part in person, part remote) course with a projected enrollment of 10 students. This is a required course for PhD students in the Department of Health Management and Policy. The emphasis in this course will be on applying econometric models to real-world problems. Instructor must have experience with econometric methods and statistical coding (Stata or SAS preferred).

Essential Functions

The adjunct faculty member will:

• Teach required number of credit hours per quarter based on contract.
• Plan and provide instructional experiences, in person and/or asynchronously, that reflect the philosophy, objectives, and curriculum of the program.
• Evaluate student achievement of curricular objectives/outcomes.
• Maintain communication with the Department Chair regarding any course or student issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

 Required Qualifications  

• Master or doctorate degree in health economics or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience.
