Job Summary/Basic Function:	Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College. Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis. Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings. Job duties include but are not limited to: Reports to the Director of Community Education Successful candidates have a well-rounded background in healthcare and a strong desire to teach students the necessary skills to be successful in the field Prepares for and instructs established and approved curriculum and lesson plans to students in a professional manner Answers all student questions to ensure student understanding and completion of material Ensures students are aware of safety policies and monitors for correct procedures Manages all classroom activity including lecturing, student assistance, and lab instruction Ensures students are attending class and arriving on time and resolves attendance issues as needed Knowledge and skills in the following areas: Medical teamwork, bedside manner, infection control, clinical skills and techniques, health promotion, and maintenance. College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.

Minimum Qualifications:	High School Diploma and 2 years’ experience to successfully perform the essential duties of the job Medical Assistant (MA) certification
Desirable Qualifications:	Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Registered Nurse (RN)
