Adjunct Lecturer of Communication – Principles of Communicating in the Self-Care Industries

The Master of Communication Management (MCG) program in the Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism, University of Southern California seeks a qualified Adjunct Lecturer to supplement instruction offered by our full-time faculty, specifically to teach CMGT 518: Principles of Communicating in the Self-Care Industries during the Fall 2024 semester. This course focuses on marketing communication and social media strategies, including direct-to-consumer and influencer management, specific to the beauty and personal care industries.

Candidates must have a substantial industry experience in: Communication, Management, Marketing and Branding. Managerial and senior vice-president or higher level experience in global and emerging brands (such as L’Oreal or Benefit) highly desired. Teaching and guest-lecturer experiences in marketing communication, strategic and organizational communication, other fields of applied communication are highly desired.

Minimum Qualifications :

Minimum Education: Master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Management, or related fields.

Minimum Experience: 18 years of professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications :

Preferred Education: Master’s degree in Communication, Marketing, Public Relations, Business, Management, or related fields.

Preferred Experience: Demonstrated ability to coach and help students or peers achieve their academic and professional goals. Senior vice-president or higher level experience in global and emerging brands (such as L’Oreal and Benefit) highly desired.

The hourly range for this position is $$36.37 - $45.46. USC reserves the “Adjunct” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year, but in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.
