Position Summary
The Department of Psychiatry at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Medicine is seeking an Advance Practice Provider as an Adjunct Instructor to work on the primary care service of the UNC WakeBrook campus in Raleigh, NC. Principal responsibilities will include:
1. Providing physical health care – including acute care, chronic disease management, and health screenings – to patients undergoing mental health evaluations and treatments on the residential and inpatient psychiatric units of the Wakebrook campus.
2. Providing primary care services in the Wakebrook outpatient primary care office, which serves individuals with mental illness, substance use disorder, and developmental disabilities.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Applicants must have completed an approved Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant training program, have received and maintained certification, and be eligible for North Carolina licensure. Prior experience providing primary care or acute care is required.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Prior experience or demonstrated interest in caring for patients with serious mental illness and substance use disorders is desired. The successful candidate will work side-by-side with a team of psychiatrists and primary care physicians to provide compassionate, evidence-based primary care. Weekday and weekend/holiday shifts available.
