Adjunct Instructor - UAA Department of Languages

Demonstrable skills in teaching the target language at the lower-division level; sensitivity to a diverse student population; ability to provide a strong pedagogical foundation to classes of 20-30 students; familiarity with the integration of technology into the classroom.

Adequate language and teaching skills are necessary for this position. The successful candidate will have knowledge of accepted instruction methods and be able to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. The successful candidate will have public speaking skills.

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must have expertise and experience relevant to teaching the specific course content. Successful candidates must have a master's degree in a related field. Knowledge of second-language acquisition and teaching methodologies is highly desirable. Candidates are expected to abide by all departmental, college, and University principles.

Position Details:

This position is located on the University of Alaska campus in Anchorage. This is a part-time, adjunct represented temporary position. New hires will be placed on the adjunct salary schedule as outlined in the UNAD CBA, based on education and experience.

This is a pooled position, which means that the position remains open over the entire academic year.
