Job Title:  Adjunct Instructor- TMA - Theatre Education (TMA 476)

Required Degree: BA or BFA in education, theatre, or theatre education.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

 

Experience:  3-5 years of experience teaching K-12 public schools and/or university. 3 years experience directing theatre and coaching actors. 

 

Duties/Expectations: Successful candidates will teach TMA 476 (Secondary Student Teaching). Candidates will supervise practicum as well complete required assessments as outlined by BYU and the Utah State Board of Education for student teachers in local high schools.  They will provide students feedback on current theatrical trends and practices for directing and acting methods. They will have an understanding of national and state theatre standards and will coach students to align the standards with their curriculum.

 

Instructor must be an engaging and clear teacher, able to lead effective class discussions, and give students constructive and concise feedback. Instructor is expected to be available for faculty meetings and office hours as required for student consultations. 

Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration.  Must be willing to teach the course(s) in person, on campus and at local high schools.  Mileage to visit high schools may qualify for reimbursement.
