Adjunct Instructor

The University of Chicago Professional Education (UCPE) is dedicated to empowering learners with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions that they need to attain their professional goals. UCPE is collaborating with instructors with strong industry experience to develop non-degree offerings that are responsive to the latest needs of learners and seeks qualified applicants to develop or teach programs in person and/or online.

Programs in the following subject areas are of particular interest; examples of courses that are already offered are also provided.

• Applied Sciences – DevOps
• Medical Writing and Editing, Regulatory Writing and Compliance, Clinical Trials Management
• Financial Management and Decision Making – Psychology of Finance, Decision-Making and Risk Management, FinTech, Corporate Financial Strategy, Securities and Portfolios
• Healthcare – Healthcare Informatics, Clinical Trials
• Project Management – Agile Project Management
• Leadership/Management

Those selected will be required to perform the following duties:

- Develop and review learning materials, such as content for lectures, formative and summative assessments, discussion prompts, case studies, and roleplaying exercises,

in collaboration with the instructional design team.

- Partner with administrative and academic staff to guarantee that those materials meet the University’s high standards of academic rigor and excellence.

- Use Canvas, the University’s learning management platform, for course management, content delivery, and communication with students.

- Facilitate instruction according to program and syllabus requirements.

- Use Zoom, the University’s Web-conferencing platform, to facilitate highly engaging and interactive live synchronous sessions

Qualified applicants must have at least 10 years of exceptional professional experience in a specific industry. Candidates with a graduate-level degree and prior teaching experience are strongly preferred.
