Job Title:  Adjunct Instructor of Chinese; day or evening classes (Chinese 201, Chinese 202)

Job Classification:  Adjunct Faculty - teaching, may be taught day or evening. Evening courses may be offered through evening classes, BYU Online or Independent Study University.

Required Degree: Applicants for the position must have received at least a Master's degree, and preferably a PhD in Education, Chinese (Mandarin) Language, Literature, Linguistics or a related field. 

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience:   Applicants must have experience teaching Chinese to second language learners, preferably at all levels in post-secondary institutions in the United States. Native or near-native proficiency in Mandarin and fluency in English are required.

Duties/Expectations: The candidate will teach Chinese courses and participate in and contribute to the Chinese program as needed. This may include activities such as (but not limited to) holding regular office, attending department meetings and activities, and collaborating with the Head of the Chinese Section on curriculum development and program assessment.
