Job Description

This is a part-time non-tenure track adjunct position to serve the undergraduate nursing program (Baccalaureate), practicum, teaching fall and spring semesters, up to two courses; primarily on Tuesdays or Thursdays or Saturdays.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach practicum courses in area of specialty.

  • Work collaboratively with the lead faculty in the implementation of Practicum courses.

  • Maintain records as designed and structured; submit attendance and evaluation of the learners’ performance; schedule and maintain weekly office hours and mentor students; post grades (mid-term & final); and follow-through in other duties as prescribed.

  • Other duties as assigned by department head.

Required Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing, and Master’s Degree in Nursing

  • Experience and credentialing in one or the following specialty areas: Adult Health Nursing, Family Health Nursing, Mental Health, Community, and Leadership Management.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and service in nursing education and practice.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Required Licensure/Certification:

  • Current license to practice nursing in the State of Texas or eligible to apply of licensure.
