Adjunct Job Announcement

Position: Microbiology Adjunct Instructor

Location: Athens Campus  

Department: General Education, Online Learning, and Dual Enrollment

Reports to: Divisional Academic Dean

Salary/Benefits: Salary is commensurate with education and experience. State of Georgia benefits package.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach and coordinate the instruction of the lecture and co-requisite laboratory courses.
  • Enforce health and safety requirements in classrooms and laboratories.
  • Evaluate students on a regular basis and provide frequent feedback to students.
  • Prepare and submit documentation of student progress.
  • Develop and adhere to course outlines for each course assigned.
  • Demonstrate effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills with students, faculty, and staff.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills & Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Microbiology with at least 18 graduate semester hours in Microbiology.
  • Strong written and oral communications skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Doctorate in Microbiology.
  • Two (2) years prior teaching experience at the post-secondary level.
  • Ability to make presentations using advanced media technology, such as distance learning and online learning applications.
  • Experience using BlackBoard as the online learning management system.
