Adjunct Instructor - Master’s in Industrial/Organizational Psychology

Primary Area of Interest: Statistics, selection, measurement and design, applied psychology research methods          

Degree: PhD preferred, Masters required

Degree Area: Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Quantitative Psychology, OB/HR (business), or related discipline

The Industrial/Organizational (I/O) Psychology Program is designed for students who are interested in the function of this field of study in corporate settings, combining theory and practice. The program emphasizes the practitioner model through applied assessments, real-world organizational projects, and networking opportunities with professionals in the I/O community. The majority of students enrolled in the program are full-time employed and are interested in directly applying curriculum in their current organizations as well as using their education to advance. All courses and major projects are structured to support these individual interests and applications for students.

Desired applicants will have professional experience within an I/O area of business, and understand how to guide student understanding of curriculum application within the real-world. It is preferred that applicants also have experience teaching online and using online learning platforms.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Desired applicants will have a minimum of 2 years of Industrial/Organizational Psychology experience working in relevant applied settings.
  • Experience teaching graduate level courses online.
  • The applicant should have a solid working knowledge of statistical analysis as it applies to psychometrics and psychological studies.
  • Advanced applied knowledge in areas of selection, measurement and design, performance management, and organizational development.
  • Experience using SPSS and Excel to complete statistical analyses.
  • Experience using Qualtrics to create questionnaires and collect data.

Primary Functions/Essential Duties:

  • Teaching graduate students from approved curriculum in accordance with assigned schedule.
  • Motivate students to actively participate in all aspects of the educational process.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students.
  • Maintain and report student grades and attendance in accordance with University policies.
  • Assist students in achieving completion of objectives and learning outcomes.
  • Provide additional materials, research, and knowledge in area of expertise as it relates to course projects and content.
  • Ability to understand and explain real-world application of course curriculum.
