Position Overview
The Department of History is seeking an instructor for a one-semester long survey of US History. In addition to disciplinary learning objectives, this class is a part of the Marquette Common Core’s Foundations Tier for ESSV 1.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • teach one section of HIST 1101 meeting T/Th 9:30-10:45 (in person)
  • create syllabus and assessments for the course that address learning outcomes for the major and Marquette Common Core
  • grade exams and papers as set by syllabus
  • hold regular office hours in person or online, as well as be available to students by email to support student success
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Masters Degree preferred or substantial progress toward the terminal degree.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Doctoral degree in History preferred, experience with successful teaching of a semester-long survey of US history, and knowledge of Marquette Common Core learning outcomes.
