Job Title:   Adjunct Instructor in Theatre Education (TMA 476)

Job Classification:  Adjunct Faculty- Teaching; Day and or Evening courses, BYU Provo campus

Required Degree: BA or BFA in education and/or theatre or equivalent experience.

The required degree must be completed by the start date.

Experience3-5 years of experience teaching K-12 public schools and/or university or equivalent experience. 3 years experience directing theatre and coaching actors.

Duties/Expectations: Knowledge of and experience teaching theatre pedagogies and instructional practices.  Knowledge of current theatrical trends and practices for directing and acting methods.  Should be able to coach students from a variety of backgrounds. Familiarity with classroom management and assessment strategies. Understanding of national and state theatre standards and can coach students to align the standards with their curriculum.  Experience and knowledge of curriculum design. Candidates will be required to complete practicum supervision as well complete required assessments as outlined by BYU and the Utah State Board of Education. Experience with young audiences a plus. Most importantly, the candidate should be a friendly collaborator who is committed to the mission of BYU and to a department of culture, love, unity, and belonging.

Must reside in the State of Utah to be eligible for employment consideration.  Must be willing to teach the course'(s) in person, on campus.
