Job Summary/Basic Function:
Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.
Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.
Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • Reports to the Division Chair of Physical Sciences and Process Technologies
  • Teaches industrial hygiene classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods. Course materials are prepared and the IH laboratory has state-of-the-art equipment.

College benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.
Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus, carrying, handling, fine dexterity, vision, hearing, talking; ability to drive to off campus locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene from a regionally accredited college or university;
  • Applicant must have 3-5 years of Industrial Hygiene work experience; a Certified Industrial Hygienist is preferred, but not required;
  • The applicant’s industrial hygiene experience is preferred to have come from an industrial setting;
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one’s value to the institution; and
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration

If your college/university is not from a US awarding institution, you must have your education credentials evaluated by a company that is a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES). For applicants with an Associate’s Degree in Safety, Health, and Environmental Management, is is a requirement to provide an Employer Letter(s) of Verification documenting a minimum of three (3) years of non-teaching wage earning experience in the occupational field is/are required. Multiple letters must be submitted if employment with one employer does not total three (3) years. Letters must be on company letterhead.
