Position Summary | The School of Social Work hires part-time adjunct faculty in the fall & spring semesters and/or summer sessions to teach one or more courses in the MSW or PhD program. Curriculum, programs and content areas determine teaching needs. |
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements | Master’s degree in social work or a related field is required. Master’s degree in social work is preferred. A doctoral degree or the completion of some doctoral coursework in social work or a related field is also preferred. |
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience | Professional social work experience in direct practice, community practice, management, policy practice and/or research is preferred. Teaching experience in social work graduate education is preferred. Teaching experience in relevant course material is preferred, that is, human behavior and the social environment (HBSE), policy, and/or research. |

Special Instructions | Please submit the following application materials online: a curriculum vita; a list of at least three professional references; and, a cover letter addressed to: Dr. Lisa de Saxe Zerden describing 1) any current and prior social work professional practice experience, (2) any prior teaching experience, and (3) any relevant practice credentials (e.g., ACSW, LCSW). If selected for an adjunct appointment, an official transcript from the highest degree earned OR from the same discipline or one closely related to the subject matter of the course(s) to be taught AND an approved criminal background check will be required. The School of Social Work HR Office will contact you regarding collection of these documents if you are selected. |
